Close to 700 participants and 541 submitted abstracts showed the high interest in the congress. This achieved all the goals that the Organizing Com-mittee had set for the meeting. We had amongst us the presence of renowned international special-ists who brought their opinions on several controversial topics such as “What future to anticipate for diges-tive endoscopy?,” “Auto-immune liver disease and its challenges,” “Digestive endoscopy training,” “Celiac disease today,” “New diagnostic modalities in ultrasonography,” and “”Irritable bowel syndrome: a customized treatment?”. These topics enabled heated discus-sion that enriched us scientifically and allowed us to apply this information daily in our workplaces. The first day of work was dedicated to the Post-Graduate course titled “In-flammatory Bowel Disease in Endosco-py.” It included four sessions, covering topics such as diagnostic procedures, therapeutic approaches to IBD, and endoscopic scoring systems. We were honored by the presence of WGO President, Prof. James Toouli, who took the advantage of his visit to Portugal to inaugurate the WGO - GIHep Training Center in Porto. Professor Toouli spoke to participants on the WGO’s vision and mission in digestive health. Speech of Prof. José Cotter in the Portuguese Digestive Week 2015.
