‘Microbiota Hard Talks - Live from
Texas Medical Center’ Continues to
Attract Large Numbers of Viewers
The third webinar
in 2018 of
the “Microbiota
Hard Talks –
Live from Texas
Medical Center”
webinar series
was broadcast on
Wednesday, 7
November 2018.
Moderated by Prof. Eamonn Quigley,
MD, PhD, of the United States,
the webinar featured Prof. Fergus
Shanahan, Director of APC Microbiome
Ireland, who discussed the topic
“Missing Microbes and Misplaced
Microbes - facts and fiction.”
Prof. Shanahan’s presentation
focused on four broad topics:
-- Lessons learned
-- Limitations of disease correlation
studies
-- Opportunities for clinical
translation
-- Advice for the Everyman
The live broadcast of the third webinar
had over 500 connections from 80
countries on all continents. This level
of participation was consistent with
the high number of connections from
the first and second webinars of 2018.
Similar to those previous webinars,
questions for the speaker came from
participants around the world, in this
case India, Turkey and Uruguay.
