Can “Cascades” make guidelines global?
With improved access to gold standard medicine guidelines though the World Wide Web, many doctors have increasing expectations for the local availability of equipment and materials. Gold standard guidelines are of interest to many, but only a few can apply them to their full extent. WGO Global Guidelines use “Cascades” and by doing so, seek to bridge the gap between knowing and doing.
A Cascade is a selection of two or more hierarchical diagnostic or therapeutic options, based on proven medical procedures, methods, tools or products for the same disease, condition or diagnosis, aiming to achieve the same outcome and ranked by available recourses.
