The World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) in partnership with the Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan (GEST) is pleased to announce the next Train the Trainers workshop, which is scheduled to take place in Taipei from 13-16 April 2015

Train the Trainers in Colonoscopy, Wolverhampton, UK


In collaboration with the British Society of Gastroenterology, WGO is pleased to announce that a Train the Trainers in Colonoscopy course took place in Wolverhampton, UK from 11-13 June 2014.


A full report of the meeting will be made available shortly!


The aim of this course was to learn an effective method of colonoscopy training, as well as promote a safe standardised way of performing colonoscopy. The course covered principles of adult teaching and learning, transfer of psychomotor skills, objective setting and critical reflection, positive critiquing / performance enhancing feedback, language used in colonoscopy training, improving verbal communication, indications and contraindications, sedation techniques, assessments in colonoscopy, and optimizing the Training Environment. Live video links to training sessions in endoscopy were used to facilitate these learning objectives, as well practical training sessions involving endoscopic models.
