WGO Training Center in Bogotá, Colombia
Introduction:
In response to training needs in Central and South America, on August 6, 2008, the Clinica Reina Sofia Endoscopy Training Center and the Clinica Universitaria Colombia Endoscopy Training Center were inaugurated in Bogotá, Colombia.
Clinica Reina Sofia has obtained significant recognition in digestive endoscopy both in Colombia and abroad, and a subspecialty program is being created under the auspice of a new medical school, Unisanitas.
Main Objectives / Goals:
- The main objectives of the Bogotá Training Center include the provision of complementary endoscopy training, training in therapeutic endoscopy, training in endoscopic EUS, training in new technologies and research on new developments in endoscopy
- The geographic areas targeted for training includes Colombia, Central America and the Andean region.
Facilities:
Digestive Endoscopy Unit:
- Two adult and one paediatric endoscopy rooms
- One gastrointestinal physiology room
- Recovery room for sedated patients
- Dedicated area for equipment disinfection
ERCP Suite with digital radiology support.
Experimental Animal Suite.
