Overview
The Santiago center offers training programs to endoscopists, nurses, GI assistances and anesthesiologists. It also offers selective training or Upgrade Courses (CME) to trained therapeutic endoscopists.
The Endoscopy courses generally last 4 months and the curriculum is flexible according to the individual experience and background education of trainees or the requirements of the home institutions.
The first month is dedicated to observation only and the other 3 months to hands on training. In addition, there are 6 weekly academic activities scheduled (Clinical/Endoscopic and Training Tools Meetings).
The anesthesiologists training program lasts for 30 months.
In addition to the ongoing training courses, the center holds Biennial International Courses on Therapeutic Endoscopy. More than 1200 participants have attended the past 5 courses.
Six Practical and Workshops (Thematic Courses) have also been held at the center, one of them has been devoted to the topic “Models in Endoscopy”.
