Introduction

This videmecum introduces key starting points for exploring the latest thinking on diagnosis, therapy, epidemiology and etiology of Hepatitis A,
B, C, D and E.

There are three routes into each subject: key articles, evidence searches, best guidelines and websites. When exploring routes 1 and 2 it is especially useful to remember that once in Pubmed Medline you can click on ‘links’ to search for ‘full text’ and you can click on ‘related articles’ to find more articles dealing with this topic.The selection of key articles is arbitrary. We have tried to include full text articles and together with the best websites and guidelines from key GI associations as well as the WHO and CDC, you – our reader – will have enough information to arrive at an informed view of where the field is now and where it is likely to go.
