World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) - Global Guardian of Digestive Health. Serving the World.

WGO Outreach Program

The Outreach Program brings equipment manufacturers to low resource areas in order to improve the care of those stricken by digestive diseases.

The Outreach Program is designed to introduce and/or restore endoscopic services to areas in need. Administered by the WGO Education and Training Committee, the Outreach Program connects equipment manufacturers with public hospitals or clinics in low-resource areas.

Outreach Centers

The first outreach center was established in 2003 at the Eva Perón Teaching Hospital in Argentina. In 2005, the second center was launched at the Yalgado University Medical Center in Burkina Faso. Olympus Corporation generously supported the establishment of both centers with donations of endoscope towers, accessories and scopes.
