International criteria (King’s College) and their value in daily clinical practice were explained. Intensive Care Management of Patients with ALF Early identification of complica-tions is mandatory in the manage-ment of ALF patients under intensive care. Liver transplantation should be considered in selected cases. Hepatol-ogy- dedicated ICUs are recommend-ed, since thorough understanding of pathophysiology and therapeutic peculiarities increases survival rates. Best results are found as a result of a real team work. Fortunately, some patients present spontaneous recovery during the course of the disease.
