The first World Congress was held in Washington, DC, USA in 1958, and had historically been held every four years until 2017, when it moved to a two-year cycle. Traditionally, the World Congress has rotated between three regions: the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. For Congresses organized after 2017, the regional rotation was extended to include the Africa/Middle East region. View the congress history.
The call for bids for the 2025 WCOG will open later this year and will be announced here.
